Q 3 What is a workspace in Photoshop and how to customize it?

A workspace in Photoshop is the arrangement of interface elements - Tools bar, Options bar, Panels (Layers, Properties, Color etc.) and Document window. Types of default workspaces: Essentials, Photography, Painting, Graphic and Web etc.

Steps to Customize Workspace: Open Photoshop and open a document. Arrange Panels: Drag panels from one group to another, dock or undock them. Close unnecessary panels from Window menu. Arrange Tools: You can customize toolbar via Edit > Toolbar. Set Keyboard Shortcuts & Menus: Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts / Menus. Save Workspace: After arrangement, go to Window > Workspace > New Workspace. Give it a name, select what to save and click Save. To reset at any time: Window > Workspace > Reset [Workspace Name].

Q 4 Explain CorelDraw Interface in detail.

Main components of CorelDRAW Interface: Title Bar shows name of file. Menu Bar: File, Edit, View, Layout, Object, Effects, Bitmaps, Text, Table, Tools, Window, Help. Standard Toolbar: Common functions like New, Open, Save, Print, Cut, Copy. Property Bar: Context-sensitive bar shows properties of selected object. Toolbox: Left side vertical bar containing all tools - Pick Tool, Shape Tool, Crop Tool, Zoom, Curve tools, Shape tools, Text Tool, Eyedropper, Fill tools etc. Drawing Page / Document Area: White area where you create design. Q 5 Explain the following in InPage.

a) Creating line: To create a line in InPage, select Line Tool from Toolbox. Click and drag in document area. You can set line style, width, color and arrowheads from Ribbon.

b) Toggle English / Urdu text: InPage supports both languages. You can switch by shortcut Ctrl + Space or by clicking Language button on Ribbon. This allows typing Urdu in Noori Nastaleeq and English in same document.

c) Document Area: It is the white page area where all work is done. It represents the printable page. You can set its size, margins, orientation from File > Document Setup.

d) Insert Table: To insert a table: Insert > Table or from Ribbon. A dialog box appears asking for Number of Rows and Columns. After inserting, you can adjust cell size, borders, fill color and enter Urdu/English text inside cells.

Q 6 Write the following Corel Draw tools.

i) Pick Tool: The most used tool. Used to select, move, resize, rotate and skew objects. Shortcut is Spacebar.

ii) Shape Tool (F10): Used to edit vector shapes and curves. With it you can add/delete nodes, convert curves to lines, smooth nodes, break paths, and edit text characters' nodes.

iii) Knife Tool: Used to cut or slice an object into two separate parts. You can cut in a straight or freehand line. After cutting, the two parts become separate objects. Found under Crop tool group.

iv) Smudge Brush Tool: It is used to distort an object by dragging its outline. You can smear inward/outward, create fingerprint or liquid effects. You can set nib size, pressure and amount from Property Bar.
