PTA official method to check sim owner name is via 668 SMS service. You send your CNIC number without dashes to 668 and PTA tells you how many sims are registered on your CNIC and their numbers. This is legal and PTA approved. No claim.
You can also check sim owner name partially for your own sims, network, and city. You cannot and should not show full CNIC, exact address or live location of any person - that is illegal under PTA and PECA law.
What Information You Can Show Legally (No Claim)?
- Sim Owner Name (First name + last name - not father name)
- Mobile Network (Jazz, Zong, Telenor, Ufone)
- Number of sims on CNIC
- City (Not exact address)
- Sim Status (Active/Inactive)
- How to check via 668
What You Should NOT Show (Will Get PTA Claim):
- Full CNIC number
- Full address with street
- Live location tracker
- Call history or SMS history
- CNIC photo
