Do you recall my previous blog post? How did I tell you how to establish a blog in that post? I've discussed platforms for starting a new blog and different types of blogs. These options are also beneficial to SEO.

In that post, you can learn about some frequent blogging topics. If you are unfamiliar with blogging, go to that article first and read it before reading this. Don't worry if you're using the new Blogger; all of the settings are identical to the old Legacy Blogger.

In this article, I'll go through some typical blogger or Google blog settings. By reading this essay, you will be able to make them rock. On blogger settings, you don't have to view long videos. Before you begin, ensure that you have entered into your blogger account and that you are just going to set it up.

1.   Basic Settings.


To go into basic settings just click on settings on the left side of the blogger. You will be automatically sent in basic settings. Here you can edit your blog title, description, URL, and control over communication.

In basic settings, you can do these things,

Title:

 
  • You have the option of changing the title of your blog. For example, I can modify the title of my blog from there.

Description:

 
  • This is the description of your blog that appears in the blog's header. This is where you make changes. The term "description" refers to information about your blog.

Publishing:

(Blog Address)
  • You can enter the URL of your blog in this section. You can also enter a custom blog URL in this box. To add a custom URL, purchase a domain and enter it here, such as www.trickpk.com, then click Save. You will then be given some values to enter on the domain where you purchased it.

  • (custom domain setup will be explained later)

HTTPS:

  • Hyper Text Transfer Protocol is the abbreviation for HTML. It's quite handy, and make your domain secure to enable it once you've added a custom domain.

Permissions:

  • You can give your partner access to your blog control and make your blog visible to your visitors via permissions. You may also use this section to make your blog private.

  • Private- Only these readers then add their emails.

2.  Post, Comments and sharing.


Posts

Here you can customize your blog posting style. You can minimize or maximize the number of posts on the homepage of your blog. If you gave the value 5, then it will show only 5 posts on your home page.

  • Here you can also put pre-text which will be automatically added to your every post.

Comments:

In this section, you can change that,Comment location,  where to display comments of users.

  • who can comment on your article?

  • Moderate the comments before publishing.

  • You can enable word verification to reduce the number of spam comments. This will ask the user to verify.

  • Google+ Comments, to make a relationship between Google+ and blogger.

Share to Google+. 

  • Make your blog able to share your posts on google plus by enabling these options.

  • People can follow your Google+ from your blog.

3.   Email.


This is a very important section of your blog settings. Email means email, you can do everything by email. 

  1. You can add a comma-separated list of emails to receive notification of every comment on those emails.

  2. From this section, you'll be able to notify your followers whenever a new post is published. You must use this email section with caution and at your own risk.

4.  Language and formatting.


This is also a great option for bloggers. You can change the blogger language for you.

  1. You can enable transliteration as your own language.

  2. In the Formatting section, you can change your time zone.

  3. The date header format will help you to show the accurate time of posting with every post on top.

5.  Search Preferences.


Search preferences mean that how your blog will be displayed in treated search engines.

Meta tags:

 
  • In this section, you will meet the first option of meta tags (meta description).

  • The meta description will not be displayed on your blog. It will be displayed in search engine search results. This is a very important step in SEO.

Errors and redirection:

 
  • Here you will be able to redirect your URLs. You can redirect your closed post URL to another new URL.

Crawlers and indexing:

 
  • This option is for the google webmaster tool. You can add your blog to the google search console. This will help you to increase your traffic.

To enable custom robot.txt paste the following code, please add your URL in the place.

“User-agent: Mediapartners-GoogleDisallow:User-agent: *Disallow: /searchAllow: /Sitemap: https://site_name.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=UPDATED”

Checkboxes like this, Custom Robot header Tags.

  • The last option monetizing means monetizing your blog. Add your ad as text here.

6.  Other:


Import & Backup

This is also an important option for blogger settings. Here in this option, you can import & export (backup). Back up your whole blog including posts, images, and comments. 

  • This will be in the XML file, you can save it on the drive for later use.

Delete:

 
  • Delete means delete, it depends on you that why you want to delete it.

Site Feeds:

 

It is used to customize your blog post. It means that how much content of your post will be able to see.

  • You can enter your Feedburner or other service URL to redirect.

  • You can add text in the post feed footer option. This text will be seen in every post of your blog.

  • You can enable title links and enclosure links.

Last one:

It is our last and important option. You should add a google analytics ID to help Google in tracking your site traffic and your viewer’s interaction with your site.

7.  User settings:


You can choose which profile you'd want to use in Blogger. As an administrator, you can use your Google+ or Blogger profile as admin.
